Twenty years on Everest before he hung up his pack and started leading slower trips. Has summited Ama Dablam four times.

Keeps the office running, the permits filed, and the porters insured. Speaks five languages and a little Tibetan.

Senior trail guideLangtang valley

Lost his family home in 2015, helped rebuild the village, and has been walking the valley with travellers ever since.

Khumbu guidePhortse

Knows every shortcut between Namche and Gorak Shep. Carries a thermos of butter tea everywhere.

Mustang specialistLo Manthang

Grew up in the walled city. Reads old Tibetan and can introduce you to monks at three different gompas.

Pokhara guidePokhara

Leads our short walks and the women-only Annapurna trips. Trained botanist, knows every wildflower by name.
